Look for the undulating façade on Passeig de Gràcia for Gaudí’s design
La Pedrera, or Casa Mila, draws you in from Passeig de Gràcia — Barcelona’s Fifth Avenue — in Eixample. The exterior is understated but impressive, and from the street, passer-bys can spot visitors milling about on the roof. For around 6 Euros, gain entrance to the top floor and roof, which resemble an Arabian desert and boast views out across the Eixample neighborhood. It is one of the most calming spots in the city and, despite its relative simplicity, my favorite of Gaudí’s works in Barcelona.
