Tibidabo

A nostalgic amusement park, breathtaking views of the city and a chapel that reaches into the clouds

Tibidabo, by Karina for TKGO

On the edge of the Barcelona opposite the ocean protectively rises Tibidabo, the highest point in the city. The charmingly retro Tibidabo Amusement Park has overlooked Barcelona for more than 100 years, which makes for a breathtaking ride on the Ferris Wheel. At the very top, slightly above the amusement park, is a beautiful chapel with a statue of Jesus at the pinnacle that touches the sky.

I highly recommend scheduling in a trip to Tibidabo, though it does take planning to get to the top. (Some try to take the Funicular, although I found the public bus system — which drops right there — to be the easiest.)

I highly recommend scheduling in Tibidabo; it is one of my favorite spots in the city.
