Lotus Theater opened around the time I was living in Barcelona and hailed as the next big thing in nightlife, and the couple of nights I spent out at Lotus were solidly entertaining (including Halloween, which isn’t as widely celebrated in Barcelona as us Americans had hoped). Apparently the space was a former strip club, and its newest version — Lotus — retains some of that dark appeal.

The dancing area is at the far end of the club, and a series of tables and booths line the walls of the room. A huge bar extends almost the entire length of the club, and if you happen to order a bottle, there’s a good chance a bottle waitress on a suspended swing will glide over and deliver it to your table.
