If you want to get noticed, shop at Desigual (which means “not the same” or “different”). The clothes are multi-colored and multi-pattered — loud, in a word — but a lot of fun and on the right person, killer. I wandered in and out of Desigual stores whenever I passed; the clothes were so confident and energetic I wanted to find something that worked for me. I finally settled on a bag, and then returned to the United States to find out a Desigual was coming to New York City. Still, you can take the store out of Spain…
