The Cubby Bear

A sports bar kitty corner from Wrigley Field hosts plenty of events

The Cubby Bear really is the post-Cubs win celebration spot (and the losers’ destination for communal misery) because it’s not only spacious, but full of enough plasma and projector TVs (80!) that you don’t regret having parked yourself at that booth in the corner.

Though it is the ultimate sports bar, it also serves as a venue for local bands and offers plenty of participatory entertainment. Every Wednesday is a no-cover Rock Band Karaoke night at 8 p.m., and on Sundays the place converts into a salsa club from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., with a $5 cover that includes a lesson at 7 p.m.
