A japanese grocery store with a killer sashimi and sushi counter
The sushi at this casual lunch counter-style place comes at modest prices, but the quality is not lacking. And the best part? Pay $19.99 for all-you-can-eat sushi, or stick with the udon and soba soups that satisfy in the coldest of Chicago winters (which come with a California Roll). There is nothing bad on this menu, and nothing overpriced. You can easily leave full for under $10.
Grab a few goodies for the road from the small grocery section opposite the tables, like mochi ice creams, soba noodles, sheets of seaweed, sushi-grade saran-wrapped raw fish filets and a host of Japanese candy products. These products aren’t as good a bargain as the sushi, but when you’re craving wasabi peas, you know where to get them.
