Find cheap costume jewelry at Best of Everything, some European lingerie at Femmes Je Vous Aime or head to the von Liebig Art Center to check out the latest exhibit. You’ll also find a few chains, like Sperry Top-Sider. The first Thursday of the month becomes a big block party on Fifth, so stop at a restaurant or bar, like McCabe’s, to take in the scene.

Third Street

Hit up The Englishman for some great antiques, Marissa Collections for pricey designer goods or Pratt’s Shoe Salon for some practical footwear. My favorite gallery is Garden District, which unites contemporary art, glass, ceramic and plant life. Don’t miss Le Lafayette Gourmet Market, a French deli and bakery with killer coconut macaroons.
